Nearly forgot to mention, the something or otherth Aletaster beer festival is being held from this evening. There will be lots of real ale available, which is probably not too much of a surprise to people who’ve been to beer festivals before. Basically, it tends to work as follows: the Aletaster pub runs as normal; various people go out to the stables in the back yard and the tent that gets put up there and drink beer.
In case you didn’t quite catch that, that’s The Aletaster, on Durham Road, in Gateshead.
Obviously, there being a Newcastle match on telly tomorrow night, I am morally and spiritually obliged to go there, drink beer, watch the football, talk shite and try to work out how to pronounce Obafemi Martins. I think I’ll just call him “Martins”.
