Upgrades, Plugins, and Thank Yous

I just wanted to say a big thank you to all the people who’ve done so much work behind the scenes to help make ThePickards what it is — a platform for me to witter on about my views to all and sundry. Many of the people who’ve done the work may not even be aware they’ve helped me, so it’s about time I did a roll of honour.
Thanks go to…
- WordPress for producing such an easy to use blogging engine, for making it so customisable and for continually producing upgrades for it
- Mike Cherim for producing the accessible Sea Beast theme for WordPress, of which I use a modified version here.
- Homeland Stupidity for their Bad Behaviour plug in for WordPress, which stops a lot of bots and other dodgy access attempts to the site
- The Akismet spam filter for WordPress, which has so far blocked 261 spam comments to my site, only mis-identifying two genuine comments as spam in the process (and they were retrievable)
- Mike Cherim (yes, again) and Mike Jolley for the all-new Secure and Accessible PHP Contact Form
- Mike Cherim (sigh, what is it this time?) for his instructions on plugging the new contact form into the Sea Beast theme

- Oh, and that Mike Cherim chap again for generally being a top bloke when it comes to giving advice and sending me little bits of PHP code snippets that I can include to generally help customise my site. In case you’re wondering, he’s not paying me for this, and I’m definitely not sleeping with him either. He’s just an all round top bloke.
So thanks to all of you. Apart from the spammers. I couldn’t have done it without ya. And now if you don’t like my site, you know who to blame…
