England vs Israel vs Dundee??
Yes, England are shit. McClaren isn’t good enough. But I was telling you that before he’d even started the job, even though I wasn’t that hot on how you actually spelled his name at the time:
Oh, and I’ll go on record now as saying I don’t rate McLaren for the England job.ThePickards, July 2006
As soon as the FA had been turned down by Scolari, they panicked, and appointed a guy who actually has charisn’tma. A guy who has encountered so much league success that he once got Middlesbrough to finish in the top half of the table. And they give this guy the England job?
Still, to be honest, it’s Dundee I really feel sorry for. Looking at the league table printed in the Sunday Sun today, they’ve got almost as many points as the entire rest of the teams put together, and yet somehow they are only in fifth place…
Still, on the bright side England have been drawn in a different group to Celtic and Rangers…

i suppose the fa’s excuse would be that they were bringing continutiy to the coaching setup by promoting from within. but what’s the point of giving the job to someone who has been brought through the england coaching ranks by sven? he took a team of potential world-beaters and managed to mould them into a team that are feared by no-one.
i still rue the day they got rid of venables
(even though mclaren has now got him handing out the half-time oranges)
