Mehrunes Dagon and the Oblivion Gate

Get in! I’ve completed the PC Game Oblivion this week, which I highly recommended in a post from September last year called Fear and Loathing in Cyrodil City.

Yes, that’s right, it’s taken me approximately nine months to complete the game. Obviously, I’ve not been playing it every day, but since the save games tell you how long you’ve been playing the game for, I can confirm that in that nine month period, I put a total of two hundred and twenty six hours into playing the game.

When you consider I paid £40 for the game, then a further £30 for the two expansion packs Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles, that works out as an approximate cost of 31 pence per hour of play, which to my mind represents quite extraordinary value for money.

It was great fun: I eventually found a cure for my vampirism, helped Martin Septim defeat the daedric prince Mehrunes Dagon (pictured), as well as becoming head of the guilds of Assassins, Thieves, Fighters and Wizards, and completing various other quests. Yes, £70 might sounds like a significant initial outlay for a game, but I think I proved I’ve got my money’s worth!

I purchased the PS3 version (with knights of the nine) for £45 last march and completed the main quest and the extra quests in one hundred and eighty hours and it sure was worth it. All I have to do is wait for the shivering isles to become available on the PS3 network!
Wish I can fight more of Mehrune Dagon
