The Gateshead Award
I notice my home town are offering The Gateshead Award — basically, a medal what gets presented by the Mayor — and they’re opening it up to nominations from the general public.
So, if you know someone who is 18 or older, lives or works in Gateshead, and gives his or her own time to support organisations based in Gateshead, through volunteering, fundraising, what have you, why not nominate them for The Gateshead Award? (Although you will need two other people to second the nomination).
I mean, I would have nominated me mam, for her outstanding contribution in the field of babysitting, but I think they’re probably looking for something that stretches just a touch more into the rest of the community…
