		<description>Jack I&#039;ve yet to read the new document in great detail but I can&#039;t help feeling the same disappointment I did back in November. What frustrates me is that this replaces Chapter 2.4 of the UK Government Guidelines which were, in their day, a fairly comprehensive set of checkpoints for Gov web developers to follow.

Now in their place we have &quot;pointers&quot;, not definitive guidance. I fear by the COI failing to update these guidelines that those out there who are still ignorant or dismissive of web standards, that they wil continue to be so.

As you rightly pointed out, there will be no policing of the AA compliance so I can see many situations arising where Departments will do nothing unless someone gives them a good poke! It&#039;s alright harping on about Directgov and rationalism but the reality is it will not happen on the scale COI imagine it will.</description>
