I’m encouraged to see that the BBC are continuing their policy of looking at the important points in the news and not getting involved in a dumbing-down process.
Oh, wait a minute, what am I saying?
We want to see your pictures of lumpy and misshapen fruit and veg. So if you found a straight or curvy banana or a knobbly potato send us your picture.BBC News: EU prepares U-turn on wonky fruit
Note this wasn’t in the less serious ‘also in the news’ section, this was in the ‘Inside Europe’ section. Surely this is supposed to be BBC News, not That’s Life!. Or are we to expect the six o’clock news to be including an ‘And Finally’ item featuring a dog that says ‘sausages’?

As an American, I love the BBC because it is mostly devoid of this kind of garbage. The local news here in the states spends 5 minutes on local news, 3 minutes on national and international news, and 20 minutes on self-interest stories, celebrities, and other wacky garbage I don’t care about. When I want good international news without all the frills, it’s the BBC for me – hopefully it will stay that way.
