…by the corrupt few
Thanks to Paul Canning for this one. This is my band Anchisaurus’s debut album “…by the corrupt few”. I think it looks very much like I’m a heavy metal/thrash outfit. But then again, Anchisaurus. Maybe prog metal.
Here’s your route to Top Of The Pops:
- Go to “wikipedia.” Hit “random” or click http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random. The first random wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.
- Go to “Random quotations” or click http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3. The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.
- Go to flickr and click on “explore the last seven days” or click http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days. Third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.
I had a problem with this last one, as I kept hitting ‘all rights reserved’. So if you encounter this, I have an alternative: go to Flickr advanced search, and search for any photo that was taken within the last week, where there is a creative commons licence that will allow you to adapt the work.

- …by the corrupt few: George Bernard Shaw, the last few words of a quotation relating to democracy

Was having similar CC issues with finding a usable image until I discovered that some lovely chap has created a script to randomly pull an interesting flickr image that has the appropriate rights to make derivative works.
Available at http://mikelietz.org/code/flickr-ccgettr.php
Now, should we be using the first image viewed or the third?

Finally got round to doing mine;it’s on my FB.
It was ‘All Rights reserved’, but fuck it – it’s only viewable by my friends and it worked so well.
