A Hallowe’en Scary Story Idea
It’s quite simple. Write a scary story for Hallowe’en, and publish it after sundown in whatever amounts to your local timezone.
If you fancy taking part, leave a comment: I’ll keep track of everyone who does so and will produce a round-up post for the event.
There’s four rules: it has to be fiction, it has to be new writing (i.e. not something you’ve got tucked away in a desk); it has to be written by yourself (and not copied out of M.R. James); it has to be published in its entirety on October 31st. Beyond that, the choice is yours. It could be a comic tale with a ghoulish twist or unrelenting, gut-churning terror from start to finish.
The choice is yours. Assuming you fancy writing some fiction, that is. Unfortunately, there’s no prize, save the warm feeling of satisfaction you get when you finally come up with an idea to write about.
Hello. I am
Wooooooooooooooooooo-hoo, I’ll take a crack at it.
That’s a nice idea. I’m tempted. Although there’s also the worry that I might not be able to come up with anything. Oh go on then put me down. I’ll play!
I think this is a superb idea. Will definitely try to do it - can’t make any promises just now. I’ll also spread the word next time I post.
I LOVE this idea. (Thank you, Goldfish, for referring me here.) Count me in. I’ll be posting at MovingRightAlong.typepad.com.
Cheers!
I’m in! Sounds like fun and a great set up for NaNoWriMo.
Hey Jack, mine’s done, but is it okay with you if I publish mine around sundown your time? That way it won’t be quite so after-the-fact.
Hello there. Found you and this post a while ago thanks to Goldfish, but haven’t responded till now, as I wasn’t sure I’d come up with anything in time. Sorry this is so last-minute, then, but my attempt is up on my blog. Thanks for the nifty idea.
[...] came up with the idea of some people publishing a Halloween story. This is mine. I hope you enjoy it. I actually did some light research for this [...]
Mine is up. Mha ha ha, mha ha ha, mha ha ha ha ha!
Nobody here
Mine is up at http://movingrightalong.typepad.com. As usual, I waxed verbose, but I hope it’s fun anyway.
Happy Hallowe’en!
Oh, I’m an idiot. I should have linked to the story, not the blog. Here it is:
