WORLD CUP SUPER 8, Barbados: England 154 all out v South Africa 100-1BBC Sport

Okay, so we’re not beaten yet, but probably by the time you read this post we will have been. Rather humiliatingly, we’ve managed to beat only Ireland, Kenya, Canada and Bangladesh in the World Cup. All of the proper cricket playing nations, including the not-really-that-mighty New Zealand, have given us a proper tonking.

We’re shit. Poor team, poor attitude, poor captain, poor management. But what really annoys me is the fact they’ve effectively been paid piles of cash to go and have a holiday in the Caribbean. I could have easily been part of a losing tour party, and I bet the ECB would have found me to be cheaper

PS: a bonus point to the first person to tell me what I’m referring to in the post title…

I don’t like cricket, oh no, I hate it

So the title isn’t quite right, but after the debarcle yesterday I can’t bring myself to think anything different. Oh well, the sun is out, the weekend approaches and then to some proper cricket played at the park amongst friends with only fun and pride in performance to play for (something that appears severely lacking in other games that could be mentioned), and a few beers afterwards.

Yes indeed. You are all correct. The winner of the point however is Richard Conyard, who got in first. You can have a gold star, Richard, well done.

A special mention goes to Mr. Fairlamb however, who came up with a better answer than the one I had been thinking of…
