Understanding WCAG 2.0 Event
For all of y’all out there who want to know a little bit more about WCAG 2.0, I’m running a workshop type event with PSF in Birmingham looking at precisely that on Wednesday 4th November.
Full details, including booking instructions and so on, are available on the event page at PSF’s site. It looks like we may also be running a second version of this event at some point in December in Wales, so if you can’t make it to Birmingham, then by all means contact me or Nick and let us know about your interest and we’ll keep you informed if and when we run the event elsewhere.
There will be five basic sections to the event:
- Introduction to WCAG 2.0 and background of development history
- Transitioning from WCAG 1.0 to WCAG 2.0
- Beyond WCAG — Practical Accessibility
- Accessibility Testing
- Accessibility and Social Media
…although obviously if people have specific questions or issues about something not covered by one of the topics above, I will do my best to answer them as well!
The event is designed with the public sector in mind, particularly since the recent COI blog post indicated that they are happy for the accessibility of public sector sites to be measured against the WCAG 2.0 yardstick now, and at some future point (after a transitional period), measurement against WCAG 1.0 will no longer be an option.
So why not book up, come along, and I’ll talk to you about it…
